Varied circuit with an interesting profile through the rural villages of the Banale.

Signage: 942. Stenico - Tour

The steepest part of the tour is right at the outset, but after a few minutes you leave the village and reach the entrance of Bosco Arte Stenico. The rest of the tour is a constant series of ups and downs across regularly changing surfaces and an alternating sequence of meadows, woods and farmland. Now and again you pass through picturesque villages. After 18 km you return to the starting point in Stenico.

Suggestions

BoscoArteStenico is a truly unique open-air presentation of works of art and sculptures made of wood. It’s definitely worth including a little time to look at them. You should push your bike through the park (or at least ride very considerately) out of respect for the artists and other visitors.

Safety guidelines

ITRS - International Trail Rating System

The ITRS is an objective way to assess trails and routes from a biker’s perspective, evaluating four aspects:

  • Technical Difficulty: riding skill level needed
  • Endurance: combined effect of length, uphill and downhill
  • Wilderness: amount of planning required based on mobile phone reception, rescue options, water supply and wildlife
  • Exposure: consequences of a fall

Discover more about the ITRS system and check the classification of this tour in the photo gallery.

Directions

Stenico – Seo – Sclemo – Tavodo – Dorsino – Centro Sportivo S . Lorenzo in B. – Torcel – Andogno – Premione (DBB) – Stenico

The walk starts from the carpark near the church of Stenico (in the direction of Ragoli) in via Brigata Torino. Follow the signage B3.09 that in some points corresponds to route of the Saint Vili path. You will pass by S.Vigilio theatre along street “Alpi”, then turn right (2) and proceed uphill. At the crossing (3) you will rise rapidly on the right side, keep following the 300 sign. Then you will come to a little chapel, a junction with a wayside shrine with a cross and an isolated bell (5); here you have to turn right (not left towards Malga Plaz) and cycle for a bit on a mule track. After 200 m the cart-track joins a slightly better drive way [6] where you turn right still marginally climbing. You will reach a little pass between Stenico and Seo and keep easily climbing to Seo leaving behind a hairpin bend [8]. Pass by Seo on the main road, then turn right at the huge crossroads [9] in the village hwading towards Sclemo. Wnhen you arrive in Sclemo, take a left turn [10], pass by the main square on the main road, and turn left after 50 m. The unremarkable back street [11] joins a cart-track after 150 m taking you out of town and into a forest. The forest path offers you a sometimes steep downhill until it rejoins with the main road [13] near Tavodo. Turn left and take the ring road to Tavodo. At the junction between Tavodo and Dorsino [15] turn left and immediately after turn right [16] leaving the main road for the secondary road which will lead to Dorsino. Cross the stream Ambiez [17], and fight your way up to Dorsino. Cross the village and go straight ahead [19] while you are cycling under some remarkable old archways. These archways between the close-together houses are typical of this region. At the crossroad at the end of the village keep left  and face another steep climb leading to S.Lorenzo.. At the next junction [21] you keep right. You reach the striking turn around [22] at the sport centre after a steep ascent. Follow the signs straight ahead to “Moline di Deggia”. A tarmaced road takes you downhill. Here you will find yourself over the gorge of Limarò, in a place offering a stunning view on the deep canyon and on Mount Casale in the background. After a refreshing descent you reach a wayside shrine with a cross [25]. Here take the bumpy cart-track on the right. This is part of the “Dolomiti di Brenta Bike” round tour which you will follow until the village of Andogno. Stick to the “DBB” route, cross the main road [30/31], and reach Premione [33] on back roads. Keep following the “DBB” route which will take you back to the starting point in Stenico.
